Pulitzer Prize and Oscar winning
American classic takes place in
Atlanta and spans the twenty-five
years before, during, and after
the civil rights movement. It tells
the bittersweet story of an elderly
white southern Jewish lady and her
black chauffeur. At first Miss Daisy
resents all that hiring a driver
represents: getting older, losing
her independence and privacy, and
putting on airs. As the years pass,
an unspoken friendship between this
unlikely pair develops and they
discover they are not so different.
