LITTLE THEATRE DIRECTOR
LAWRENCE BENJAMIN

LAWRENCE BENJAMIN is a Screen Actors Guild eligible performer who has done film, television, radio, and stage work. He has appeared in Columbia-TriStar’s television show Sheena and performed in the SoulFire Theatre and Dinner Experience’s production of Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding in Lake Buena Vista.

He appears weekly as “Dr. Allbright” in the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT, and was also a regular performer and improvisation coach with the Laugh-Out-Loud Improv Comedy Troupe in Sanford. He has acted in, stage managed, and directed numerous productions in Central Florida. His directorial credits include Sisters and the world premiere of The Whirlwind Cometh – The Ocoee Story.

Little Theatre productions include The Octette Bridge Club, Beau Jest, The Sugarbean Sisters, Waiting In The Wings and The Dining Room. He appeared as Hoke in Driving Miss Daisy during our 2008-09 Season.

Lawrence has also worked as a member of the Reichhold Summer Repertory Theatre Company in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands where he appeared in Smile Orange and the world premiere of I Don’t Want to Bathe. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in the Virgin Islands, Lawrence is a graduate of the University of the Virgin Islands.

He will be directing this season for the Little Theatre's production of Incorruptible, a comedy by Michael Hollinger, which opens in May 2010.
