DOTTIE
HUGHES is a veteran actor and director at the
Little Theatre, where she has been a board member
and is a past President She is a New Smyrna Beach
original, having moved away for a while to pursue
a career in the insurance and real estate business,
but returning to NSB about 19 years ago with her husband,
Bill Roehrborn.
She is a Life Member of the LT. She lists RV travel,
reading and writing as her hobbies along with volunteering
at the Little Theatre. Her appearances on stage here
are numerous. Among the recent are Christmas Belles,
Waiting In The Wings, Over The River And
Through The Woods, House On The Cliff,
The Mousetrap, Barefoot In The Park,
and No Sex, Please, Were British.
She is the consummate Opal, having appeared
as that character in all of John Patricks Opal
productions. She has also appeared at The Sands Theatre
in Deland and at Daytona State College. Among her
recent directing accomplishments at the LT are The
Amorous Ambassador, Dont Dress For Dinner,
Rollin With The Rock, Whose Wives
Are They Anyway?, Whos In Bed With The
Butler?,Cahoots and Driving Miss Daisy.
Dottie has directed many LT and Daytona Playhouse
shows. Most recently she was at the helm of the classic
Driving Miss Daisy and last season, Run
For Your Wife, a farce by Ray Cooney. This season
will see her in the Director's chair again with another
gem of a classic, On Golden Pond, which opens
