JANE
TAYLOR was born in Ohio and raised in Jacksonville.
She is an accomplished actor and director and has
been involved in scores of productions. She has served
on the Little Theatre Board of Directors. In 2007,
she was elected to Life Membership in the Little Theatre,
an honor bestowed upon only the most dedicated of
LT members.
Jane was active in eight community theatres, prior
to moving back to Florida in 1995 from Marshfield,
MA. With a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts
from the University of Florida in Gainesville, she
resides in New Smyrna Beach with her husband, Jim.
She says, For 53 years, Jim has actively supported
my avocation. Our three children sometimes put up
with babysitters as Jim would be traveling on his
job and I was off to rehearsal. I appreciate their
understanding that acting is an important part of
my life.
Jane played the memorable lead role several seasons
ago in Driving Miss Daisy. She says she was
well prepared for that role as she had lived in the
Atlanta area during the Sixties and early Seventies.
Jane says she remembers that a hat, stockings and
white gloves were a must when going into town during
a time that segregation was in evidence everywhere.
Jane directed the Little Theatre's production last
season of The Dixie Swim Club. You can reach
her via our Box Office by calling 386-423-1246 or
