Auditions are held at the Little Theatre, 726 Third Avenue, New Smyrna Beach. Copies of all scripts (except the musical) may be read at the Reference Desk at the New Smyrna Beach Library. Auditions are open and no experience is necessary. If If auditioning is something you have always wanted to do but feel you have no experience this is not a problem. The director is a teaching director and should you be cast she will help and develope you along the way.
All auditions are at 7 p.m. Performances are at 8 p.m. except Sunday performances are at 2 p.m.

Squabbles

Jerry Sloan is a successful writer of advertising jingles married to an equally successful lawyer. Living with the happy couple is the not so happy Abe Dreyfus, Jerry's curmudgeon of a father-in-law. The situation is exacerbated when Jerry's mother (Mildred) loses her house in a fire and needs a place to stay. Since the wedding, Abe and Mildred can't stand each other. This play is one hilarious confrontation after another until the heart warming finale.

Characters: 4 men, 3 women (ages 30's - 70's)

Jerry Sloan: A professional jingle writer (sings, plays the piano)
Alice Sloan: Jerry's pregnant wife and a successful attorney
Abe Dreyfus: Alice's funny and stubborn father, retired New York cab driver, lives with Alice and Jerry
Hector Lopez: Puerto Rican handyman who spends most of his time in the W.C.
Mildred Sloan: Jerry's mother
Sol Wasserman: retired pharmacist and Abe's friend
Mrs. Fisher: governess/nanny

Helpful hints from the director when auditioning for roles in Squabbles: Male actors may want to audition with Jewish and/or Spanish dialects as characterizations in this play would be enhanced with these particular accents.
